Estuaries
An estuary is a partially closed body of water where incoming seawater is mixed with fresh water coming from the land.
An estuary is mix of land creatures, sea creatures, and some animals. You could imagine the food chain.Estuaries are highly affected by tides. During the day time, when tides are out, many aquatic creatures go to a safe area.
Estuaries move sediment and nutrients before they are able to get to the ocean.

Sand Dunes
Sand dunes are big mounds of sand behind ocean beaches.
Sand dunes protect barrier islands from wind, waves, and storms.
Sea oats are plants that grow on sand dunes.
The roots of Sea Oats hold the sand on sand dunes in place, so without Sea Oats the sand dunes would be destroyed.
